It’s always a great pleasure to go on a trip and find out that your destination is not only meant for fun, but also for learning, like Long Beach, California. As California’s 5th largest city and the newest coastal destination of choice in Southern California, Long Beach can provide all the facilities of modern living while letting both resident and visitors luxuriate in its casually friendly and pleasant welcoming energy.
A Delight for Health and Food Buffs
Long Beach is a city that’s designed for walking; giving health buffs much reason to rejoice. But don’t think that all that walking you’ll be doing while on vacation will not be rewarded. It will be! Immensely! Especially if you’re also a food buff.
Just imagine, there are more or less a hundred restaurants featuring all kinds of cuisine, local and global, all within an area of eight blocks. Long Beach is clearly a place that loves to serve good food!
And when you’re thinking of how to get rid of any excess weight you may have piled on from eating too much (remember, Long Beach is a highly multi-cultural city, so there’s always going to be an international selection of food available from among its restaurants), but don’t want to hit the gym or do anything strenuous, you can always take a leisurely stroll around the East Village Arts District.
The East Village Arts District is where you can find galleries and shops that showcase the creative genius of new and established artists alike.
Alternatively, you may also want to visit the Long Beach Museum of Art and the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA).
The MOLAA, located downtown in the East Arts Village District, is famous for being the only museum in the United States dedicated to contemporary and modern Latin American art.
Aside from being a showcase of art, it can also be tapped as a special events venue, from small business meetings of 20 or less people, to huge, celebratory weddings of around 400 people. If you want to live it up in a really unique location, the MOLAA could be your best bet while you’re in Long Beach.
Having fun is great, and learning is just as good! Long Beach provides both in abundance so even casual visitors will be able to come and then go back home bearing newly added information in their minds.
History buffs can visit the Queen Mary, the largest, fastest and the most luxurious ocean liner during its time. Is it comparable to the ill-fated Titanic in scope? Visit the Queen Mary to find out!
If you’re more into wildlife, specially the marine kind, you can visit the Aquarium of the Pacific. This Aquarium highlights more than 12,500 inhabitants of the Pacific Ocean for your viewing.
There are a lot more things to do and explore in Long Beach and if you’re visiting for the first time, you’d best make sure that your schedule is not cramped, so that you’ll be able to enjoy all that Long Beach, California has to warmly offer to its valued guests.
